Unitor Alumag-W is a magnesium alloyed wire for welding all common wrought and cast aluminium alloys with maximum 5% Mg. It is specially suited for welds which must be resistant to seawater and high tension, and also where high ductility is required.

Welding wire for gas metal arc welding of aluminium and aluminium alloys e.g. AlMg, AlMgMn, AlMgSi and AlMg(Cu) alloys.
Recommended to use contact tip size 1.2mm (Product No. 594630).

Directions for use
- Use pure Argon as shielding gas
- Ensure good surface preparation i.e., use only stainless steel abrasive discs or brush for grinding or cleaning
- As aluminium wire is soft, use Teflon type torch cable with length not exceeding 3m
- Cast aluminium should be pre-heated to approximately 300oC before welding and ensure they are well supported to avoid sagging from heat and after welding, to allow slow cool
